Training & Experience

Katherine is a Registered Social Worker with ten years experience and possesses a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Ryerson University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. She is a member in good standing with the OCSWSSW, an active member of the OASW and a 'retired Funeral Director with over twenty-year licensed membership with The Bereavement Association of Ontario (BAO) '"   

Katherine provides client-centred holistic approaches in counselling to assisting individuals, couples and families facing difficult adjustments due to life altering changes, MVA’s, crisis and trauma. Katherine’s therapeutic skills and knowledge allow for diverse applications in evidenced-based treatments drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. Katherine is also versed in various therapeutic modalities and integrative approaches to include Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
