I am a Master of Social Work candidate at Wilfrid Laurier University. Prior to this program I have completed a master’s degree in women’s studies and I also have educational background in Early childhood education, and I am currently a registered early childhood educator working as a part time educator at York region district school board. I have had previous experience working as a counselor in a community mental health setting offering counselling services to clients feeling distress, anxiety, PTSD, or experiencing family relationships issues and struggles.
I am interested in supporting adults and youth across a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, cross-cultural issues, stress related to immigration, and major life changes. I use multiple therapeutic approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and FST (Family Structural Therapy). My practice is client-centered, and I focus on alliance building through continuous efforts toward anti-oppressive practice. It is my goal to build a collaborative relationship and create a safe and nonjudgmental environment to ensure my clients feel comfortable and safe to share their issues with me. I look forward to serving my clients and helping them to reach their own full potential.
