Morgan specializes in the treatment of complex childhood trauma, family therapy, and a variety of social emotional disorders among the child and adolescent population.

Morgan Weatherup is a Clinical therapist who specializes in treatment for children and adolescents along with their families in individual, family based and parenting therapeutic services. Morgan has worked with a variety of people who experience difficulties such as early childhood trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), school avoidance, behavioral issues, attachment concerns and self-harming behaviors. Morgan is well known for her ability to meet clients where they are at and develop a safe and meaningful connection thus supporting and guiding her client and families throughout their healing journey.

Morgan approaches therapy through a trauma informed lens with empathy, compassion, creativity and respect towards her clients. Morgan places emphasises on creating a safe, accepting and engaging environment where the client can lead and make informed decisions regarding their treatment. Morgan utilizes evidence-based and informed practices such as, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Play Therapy. With a combination of a safe space and evidence based interventions specifically targeted for your needs, Morgan supports clients through meaningful change towards their best life.

Morgan holds a Masters of Social Work Degree from the University of Toronto with a specialization in child, adolescent and family therapy and complex developmental trauma. Morgan’s experiences extend into both intensive community based therapeutic services along with health services at a Hospital level providing individual, family, and group therapy for those struggling from various forms of mental health concerns. In these roles, Morgan provides clinical consultation to interprofessional teams, develops and delivers professional development trainings and workshops, as well as providing ongoing clinical therapy in a variety of intensive settings.
