Brendan treats anxiety, stress, phobias, depression, relationship issues, LGBTQ2AP+ concerns, work/school-related issues, disordered eating/body image concerns. His approach includes CBT, Mindfulness, Sex Therapy, Nutrition, and other holistic approaches. Insurance coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist under supervision.

Therapies: Brendan applies a Person-Centered foundational therapeutic orientation through which he offers empirically supported psychological tools, techniques and interventions from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). 

Insurance Coverage:  Insurance benefits can be used under the title of Registered Psychotherapist- supervised practice.  Brendan’s clinical work is supervised by Jason Koenigbaur MTS, RP.  

Service Delivery: Brendan offers both in-person and online sessions for individuals and couples. Brendan works with clients in late adolescence through late adulthood, of all backgrounds and worldviews.

Cost (Tax included): $150 per individual session, $160 per couples’ session. Each session is 50 minutes in duration.

In- Person Office Hours: Monday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Wednesday 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Thursday 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm 

Online Hours: Tuesday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Friday 10:00 am to 4:00 p


Training & Experience 

My Commitment:

I  provide multiculturally competent, diversity-sensitive, scientifically informed psychotherapy and counselling techniques in an accepting, supportive, honest, and encouraging therapeutic environment. In-session you will experience, genuine, empathetic, non-judgemental therapeutic exploration of whatever it is that may be troubling you. Working together with each client from a holistic, biopsychosocial, Person-Centred perspective on health and wellness, it is my goal to help you achieve a state of higher wellbeing and grow into the best version of yourself, beginning at the core with your thoughts and feelings.  

Education and Experience: 

I hold a  Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, a B.A. (Honours) in Psychology, and a Nutritionist Diploma. I specialize in helping those suffering from anxiety, phobias, depression, relationship issues, diversity-related concerns (cultural, racial, religious, gender identity, sexuality), professional/academic-related stress, relationship issues, sex therapy, and body-image-related concerns and behaviours.

My Approach: 

I work with clients from a Person-Centred  foundational theoretical orientation of empathic understanding, authentic communication, and unconditional positive regard to offer empirically supported psychological tools and techniques. I have additional certifications and training in CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused therapy, as well as postgraduate education and experience using ACT techniques and mindfulness-based strategies. I offer clients the best-practice interventions of these psychotherapeutic modalities through treatment plans tailored specifically to each individual client based on their presenting problems, personal preferences, experiences, and worldview.  

Before joining the team at Newmarket Therapy Centre, I worked with a community policing centre in Vancouver’s Chinatown to address and remediate a variety of sociocultural and psychological concerns.  I then moved back home to Ontario where I worked as a therapist in the counselling services office of a public university.
