Have you ever had an experience that you have a hard time putting into words? When someone has gone through a challenging or traumatic experience in their lives, this response is common. The use of artistic and dramatic interventions in Drama Therapy can offer an alternative to relying on words and possibly even a sense of play. This form of therapy works to bring clients to the present, engaging in the here and now of their lives. Drama therapy uses metaphor, story-telling and other creative tools to help achieve this presence in therapy. There is no artistic skill requirement to engage in drama therapy- just your inner curiosity. 

My name is Cassandra Brennan and I am grateful for you taking the time to find tools to support your valuable mental health and well-being. I have a Master’s degree in Creative Arts Therapies, with a rich history in artistic endeavours. I am currently a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and am practicing Psychotherapy under supervision. I welcome clients from diverse stages in their lives, backgrounds, cultures and LGBTQ2+ identities. I work with individuals who have experienced and are seeking to recover from trauma, anxiety and depression. These issues can influence self-esteem, thought patterns and self-identity. I specialize in working with women and gender minorities who have experienced sexual violence trauma in their lifetime. I work collaboratively with my clients to provide support in their process of recovery.

I understand that healing is not linear, but instead a winding path. I hope to be a calming companion to my clients on their therapeutic journey; to be a supportive witness to their life story and the chapters to come.
